About William Arthur Wedding Invitations
Established in 1949, William Arthur has been setting the tone for elegant weddings and events with their fine stationery for many decades. Their neutral papers have a slight tooth to them, and are a nice weight for an invitation. While their designs trend toward traditional, there are always personalization options to dress them up and make them more modern. Printing methods include engraving, letterpress, thermography, foil, and digital, and you can choose from different ink colors, envelope liners, and font styles. A large monogram and motif library is also available to select from and add to your wedding invitation suite. The invitation designers at Hyegraph Invitations have been working with William Arthur wedding invitations for over 15 years, and have the experience and expertise to hold your hand through the entire process to ensure that you get exactly what you want!
The Original Beaded Border Invitation

As soon as we launched the William Arthur wedding collection in our stationery store, the beaded border invitation style immediately emerged as a customer favorite. Originally (pictured above), it was shown with a classic serif and cursive font combination, printed in charcoal grey and gold ink. The little squiggly motif as a divider between the venue address and reception footnote added the perfect amount of design, and also tied in with the swirly design of the “to” between the couple’s names. Our clients were drawn to this semi-custom invitation template because of its timeless design and neutral base, making it a perfect option for nearly any type of wedding. From vineyards to ballrooms, and barns to museums, the simple yet elegant design can be personalized into the perfect style for any event.
Classic Wedding at The Fairmont San Francisco

For their classic wedding at the iconic Fairmont San Francisco, Eileen and Alexander visited us with their wonderful wedding planner, Mandy Scott. They were looking for the perfect invitation to set the tone for their event, and they found it in the William Arthur beaded border design. From their save the dates to give their guests plenty of notice, and all the way to the place cards on the big day, the classy beaded border design was carried throughout. Instead of black ink, they opted with charcoal grey engraving for a slightly softer look. Engraving, one of the most luxurious printing methods, involves pressing a metal plate into the paper, resulting in a crisp print and raised effect. A shimmery gold envelope liner was inserted into their inner envelopes, adding a touch of shine.
The photos above by the talented Jodee Friday speak for themselves – the result was absolutely stunning, and perfectly fit the elegant vibe they were going for. We love how everything came together for their wedding day, and the wedding invitation suite was the perfect neutral base for their gold chairs and bright florals by Sharla Flock Designs.
Luxurious City Wedding at James Leary Flood Mansion

Working with Linda from A La Francaise Events, we knew from the start that this wedding was going to be a stunner. Sophia and James wanted to make sure that they selected a traditional design that would withstand the test of time, while also allowing for their own unique style to be infused. Choosing the William Arthur beaded border wedding invitation in ecru, they opted to have their cards printed in black thermography for the most formal look. Thermography is offset printed, and then a powdered resin is added to the ink, run through a giant heater, and results in a raised effect with a very slight sheen. With the combination of the classic fonts, and their own custom monogram, the invitations were a perfect fit for their luxurious black tie wedding. To keep things cohesive, we also printed their matching William Arthur beaded border place cards with guest names, table assignments, and meal choices.
