Sophisticated Tehama Golf Club Wedding in Carmel, CA

One of the most exciting moments for us as wedding stationers is finally getting to see photos from our clients’ special day. The process of designing custom wedding invitations and stationery can be lengthy – we’re working on save the dates about one year out, wedding invitations up to six months out, and then it all culminates in a mad dash in the two months before the nuptials to get all of the day of stationery together: thank you notes, place cards, seating charts, table numbers, ceremony programs, dinner menus, bar menus, cocktail napkins, miscellaneous signage, and so much more. Allison & Tyler’s Carmel Valley Wedding Featured in Style Me Pretty

We knew we were in good hands with the talented Anya Kernes as the wedding photographer, but we were still not adequately prepared for just how stunning the wedding photos would be. The Save The Dates and Wedding Invitation Suite

Our general recommendation for save-the-dates is to mail them out about 6-9 months ahead of the wedding. For Allison and Tyler, we started working on their save-the-date design via their planner, Marilyn Ambra, about a year ahead. The timing was perfect to sort through all of the details and allow enough time for production on their cards.

Once the save the dates were completed and mailed out, we took a short break and circled back about six months later to start chatting about the wedding invitation design. Allison learned calligraphy and was planning on addressing her own wedding invitation envelopes, so we opted for a cursive font that looked similar to a hand calligraphy style. A custom monogram was designed, and copper foil stamping was featured on the main wedding invitation card for a luxurious touch. The end result was elevated and set the tone perfectly for their black tie optional wedding day.

The Wedding Venue: Tehama Golf Club in Carmel, California

California is home to so many wonderful destinations, and is a top choice for many couples to hold their weddings. Tehama, a private golf club in Carmel (owned by Clint Eastwood), was the top choice for Allison’s parents. The architectural style is California Spanish Revival inspired, and the wedding decor was meticulously designed to highlight the venue’s natural beauty.

Allison & Tyler are such a beautiful couple, and all of the strong emotions are captured effortlessly in these gorgeous photos. We think their first look at seeing the reception decor all done up is so special, and a testament to how much all of the little details matter and come together seamlessly in the end. Tehama Golf Club’s expansive grounds offered up a perfect golden hour backdrop for their candid couple portrait.

Wedding Reception Stationery Details

Wedding stationery items on the actual day of are super important, but often overlooked. Escort cards tell your guests which table they are sitting at, table number cards identify each table, place cards indicate guests’ assigned seat and pre-selected meal choice, and menu cards describe the entire wedding dinner from beginning to end. For a truly cohesive and intentional aesthetic, these items should be thoughtfully designed with the wedding decor in mind. We kept all of the fonts and colors consistent with Allison & Tyler’s original wedding invitation suite, and also utilized the same copper foil to tie in with the subtle metallic accents on their breathtaking plates. Our favorite special detail? Allison’s mother actually volunteered her own personal vintage silver serving trays to display the escort cards!
