Custom Letterpress Wedding Invitations in the San Francisco Bay Area

For centuries, letterpress has been a traditional printing method used on posters, newspapers, books, and more. Nowadays, in our world of wedding stationery, letterpress has become an extremely popular process for use on wedding invitations, save-the-dates, coasters, and more. It also sees a lot of use on personalized stationery, such as correspondence cards, note folders, letterheads, business cards, and even personalized holiday cards!
A custom plate is created for each color in the final letterpress design. Each plate is inked, and then is pressed into the paper (usually cotton). It takes a skilled pressperson to line up each color perfectly and to ensure the design from your screen translates over onto the paper.
The luxuriously deep and pillowy impression that letterpress yields is truly special and makes such a statement when guests receive your custom wedding invitations or personalized stationery. Our invitation designers continue to see a lot of requests for letterpress, and have put together some of our favorite styles below for you to view.

Pictured above, the “Emblema” invitation suite speaks for itself. The main invitation card features biscuit letterpress ink, and has a total of three layers. A wide satin ribbon wraps between the layers and acts as a belly band on the back of the card, creating the perfect spot to place your enclosure cards.
